Dacomed, a medical device manufacturer, had a new product they were introducing and needed our help. There was a big problem in most intensive care units where many patients required tracheotomy tubes after surgery. The tube inhibited the vocal chords so they couldn’t speak or communicate and it was often hard to understand what they were trying to tell the doctor and nurses. The Dacomed tube was revolutionary in that it allowed the patients to communicate.
